Leadership Update for Red Oak Middle School

The Red Oak Independent School District is pleased to announce that Howard Gatewood has been selected as the Red Oak Middle School Principal.

Mr. Gatewood joins the Red Oak ISD team after serving as an assistant principal in Arlington ISD and previously serving as an assistant principal and teacher at Red Oak High School. Before that, he was a Sergeant Major in the United States Marine Corps where he served proudly for 22 years.

ROISD Superintendent Dr. Goddard stated, “We are excited to welcome Mr. Gatewood back to Red Oak ISD. His strong leadership experience and military background, paired with his passion for student success, will be a tremendous impact on Red Oak Middle School.”

Mr. Gatewood earned a master’s degree from Concordia University and a bachelor’s degree from Columbia College. He is presently working on his doctorate at Concordia University. His wife Desiree is a UNT administrator, and they have three children.
